Funding Model


ing.grid is a scholar-led journal created to address the emerging topic of FAIR data management to the community of engineering sciences. As a diamond open-access journal, we also work towards an open and transparent policy.

Funding sources

The journal is non-profit and is financed by the NFDI4Ing consortium, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) - project number 442146713

Personnel

The Managing Editors of ing.grid are research associates at the Chair of Fluid Systems of the Technical University of Darmstadt. They are supported by an Editor Assistant. These positions are paid from the funding sources mentioned above under the TV-TU Darmstadt collective agreement.

Currently, ing.grid has three Managing Editors (part-time) and one Editor Assistant.

The publication support is provided by staff members of the Digital Publishing Team at the University and State Library of Darmstadt.

The role of Editor-in-Chief is among the responsibilities of the director of the Chair of Fluid Systems at Technical University of Darmstadt, Prof. Dr-Ing. Peter Pelz, who is also the founding Editor-in-Chief of ing.grid.

Topical editors, reviewers and authors contribute to ing.grid on a voluntary basis.

Maintenance costs

ing.grid is hosted by TUjournals, the diamond open access journal service of TU Darmstadt. The University and State Library Darmstadt covers the following costs for the maintenance of its journals:

•    Preprint server (annually): 1.150 €
•    Proportionate hosting costs per journal (annually): 1500 €
•    XML conversion (per article of average length): € 90

Charges

No APCs (Article Processing Charges) or subscription fees are charged to authors, reviewers, editors or readers.
