Research Data Management is becoming a subject of scholarly research in its own right.

That's why scholars from engineering sciences and related disciplines engaged in research data management joined forces to provide ing.grid as a platform for scientific discussion on the subject with the support of the University and State Library Darmstadt.

In this presentation at the 3rd NFDI4Ing Conference, the Managing Editor Kevin Logan presented the building blocks for constructing ing.grid as a FAIR journal: open source publishing platform Janeway, open peer review, a preprint server, transparent publications, linked metadata, and open access.

The presentation was a great opportunity to get feedback from publishing authors and discussing the finer points of open peer review and possible future developments.

ing.grid is cooperating with the conference organisers to publish a special issue containing full papers of conference contributions.
