ing.grid is proud to announce that we had one more successful open peer review process completed through our preprint platform. This led to the publication of the manuscript "Betty’s (Re)Search Engine: A client-based search engine for research software stored in repositories", available at https://doi.org/10.48694/inggrid.3953. This manuscript is part of our 2022 NFDI4Ing Conference Special Issue.

The authors Vasiliy Seibert, Andreas Rausch and Stefan Wittek present Betty's research engine, a client-based implementation of a cascading search process, that first finds research software stored on platforms like GitHub and then links them to corresponding publications or entries in third-party databases. They evaluated 400 random search results from the domain of ecology. They found that 345 out of 400 repositories referred to a corresponding publication/entry in a third-party database, clearly indicating the cascading search's potential. Betty’s research engine is live and openly available.

We congratulate the authors and thank the topical editor, Ulrike Küsters, and the reviewers Martin Maga and Mohammadreza Tavakoli for their valuable efforts.
